How the Linear Feet Calculator works

Formula. Linear feet = the length entered in feet. Square feet = linear feet × (width in inches / 12).

Example. A board 6 inches wide and 10 feet long has 10 linear feet. Square feet are 10 × (6 / 12) = 10 × 0.5 = 5.

Limitation. Linear feet are copied from the length field. The width is used only for the square-foot conversion.
