How the Snowboard Size calculator works

Formula. Base length in centimeters = height × 0.88. Freestyle subtracts 5 cm and freeride adds 5 cm. Weight adjustment = (weight in kilograms − 70) × 0.1. The recommendation is that sum rounded to the nearest 2 cm.

Example. A rider 170 cm tall and 70 kg, all-mountain, starts at 170 × 0.88 = 149.6 cm. The weight adjustment is 0. Rounding 149.6 to the nearest 2 cm gives 150 cm.

Limitation. The 0.88 factor, the 5 cm style shift, and the 70 kg baseline are constants in the script, not a manufacturer size chart. The length page uses this same formula.
