How the Tip calculator works

Formula. Tip = bill × tip percent / 100. Total = bill + tip. Per person = total / number of people.

Example. A $40 bill with a 20% tip is 40 × 20 / 100 = $8. The total is 40 + 8 = $48. Split across 2 people, each pays 48 / 2 = $24.

Limitation. The split divides the total evenly and does not handle tax as a separate line or uneven shares.
