How the Unit Converter calculator works

Formula. Length, weight, and volume convert through a base unit: base = value / factor(from), result = base × factor(to). Temperature uses the standard identities, including °F = (°C × 9/5) + 32 and K = °C + 273.15.

Example. 0°C is (0 × 9/5) + 32 = 32°F. 1 kilometer uses the factor 0.001, so 1 / 0.001 = 1,000 meters.

Limitation. Non-temperature results are rounded to 4 decimal places, and the factors are the constants in the script rather than exact fractions.
